The photos are of my youngest daughter on the day she was born and the day after.  She wouldn't pose for the hospital photographer so I took one when she was asleep and then at home when I was released from the hospital.  It's funny because she is 4-years-old now and won't really pose in front of the camera or she'll over pose and I'll get like half her face or her forehead.

It's been a long weekend. It's late and I still need to make apple crisp for husband's co-workers for their Halloween party tomorrow.  He's told them I make the best apple crisp so I need to make sure I live up to it (laughs nervously).

Macabre: New Kit by Jennifer Z Designs

I love this kit!  Macabre is seriously creepy.  I'm not really big into all the bloody and gory stuff but this kit is soooo perfect for something like that!  I had to go way back to 2005 to find a photo of myself when I dressed up as something scary for work.  I think that was the only time I dressed up for work and the last.  It was pretty odd that day because only myself and a student dressed up.  Macabre is available at divinedigital.com.

The photo of my daughter was taken in November 2010.  She wanted me to take photos of her twirling in one of her favorite dresses while I was trying to get photos of make-up for my make-up blog (which I have put on the back burner).

{Forever Friends In Their Hearts}

The photo in this layout is very special to me.  It was taken in May 2006 of my daughter when she was 4-years-old (right in photo) and her friend, who was 3-years-old.  Her friend was a foster child who came from an abusive background and was living with a foster parent (who was my daughter's babysitter).  On the day this photo was taken, they were spending time together at our home and they were so happy together.

My daughter still talks about her friend from time to time and ask how she's doing.  It is strange how paths cross and some souls we never hear from again, yet, they have a special place in our hearts.

I was on vacation last week and came home just overwhelmed with house cleaning and other things.  I've got photos on my personal blog if you would like to see.

The image above was created for a paper card for another of my sister's friend.  I used papers and elements from the Graymouse Manor kit by Lorie Davison.  The font is Champignon.

Party Fairy

I just finished a workshop on how to create a fantasy look.  It was a lot of fun and I learned some very useful techniques that I will incorporate in some of my work.  Above was the final assignment in which all the steps learned were used to create the layout.  I used most of the steps and I'm satisfied with the layout but I still sometimes feel limited by the elements I use.  There is always something missing.  I want to just start drawing and painting in the things I think will give it the look I really want but I don't draw as often as I should these days and have become a bit stiff.  I do need to a lot time for that though.

Credits:  The majority of elements and papers are from Lorie Davison's kit, Greymouse Manor.  The photo through the window of the trees was taken by me and the sky with clouds is a stock photo.  The girl is my daughter.

My Photography Featured on Etsy Treasuries

I've been very busy for the last couple of weeks and thought I'd catch up this week but that didn't happen.  So, I'm crossing my fingers for this coming week.

There were a couple of treasuries that my fine art photos were featured in earlier this week.  I was super thrilled and wanted to blog about it but every time I tried to get to it, something else came up.  This morning, my rose fine art photo was featured again on a another treasury list.  I was supposed to take my 9-year-old to her Nutcracker rehearsal (a local play this December through her ballet school) but decided to stay home and blog about it (and catch up on other things) and let husband take her instead since he is off work this weekend.

October 2011 Desktop With Calendar

For the October Desktop Challenge at Scrapbookgraphics.com, I decided to go with something very simple but somewhat creepy.

I used the Spookilicious kit by Flergs.  The font used for "October 2011" is called Cracked and is free from dafont.com.  The calendar week days and numbers were hand written using a tablet.  The Dracula is my husband in 2009.  Of our ten years together, that was the only time he dressed up for Halloween.
