Together: Mini Kit by Che Yang Designs
I've been waiting for Che Yang to release a new kit and am so happy that it finally came out! It's called Together and consists of clean whimsical papers and elements. Very lovely.
This kit is available at Mscraps.
Here is my layout:
This was created using photos I took last month while my daughter was eating edamame. You would think a 4-year-old would prefer something with more flavor and some sweetness (or lots of it) but I guess for her, it's about the bright green soybeans, and starchy flavor.

Birthday Card for Dad
The family celebrated Dad's birthday over the weekend. He's one year away from retirement, could you believe?
I created a birthday card for him using a photo from his childhood and one from maybe the late 80's or early 90's. In the childhood photo he is on the right, and I believe, he was about 12 years old.

Friday Freebie: Embrace Kit Part 1
I've been working diligently on digital scrapbooking techniques through Hummie's website. It's been a lot of fun but at the same time challenging. I am currently working on a kit I've called Embrace. It is based on these colors from a calla lily I gave my mom for Mother's Day last year.
This kit is free for download and I'll be posting them in parts. Today, I'll be sharing the first part, which consists of: 6 papers, 6 brads, and 3 paperclips. I hope you download it and create great memories with it.

Friday Freebie: Love Word Art Quick Page
I've been pretty busy and didn't have much time this week so I decided to create a word art quick page. Valentine's Day is just 4 days away so I thought a word art layout about love would be fitting.
This word art quick page download size is 12x12 at 300 dpi. Fonts used in the creation of this layout are Orator Std and Vtks Beautiful Dreams, both are from dafont.com.

Sweet Tweets: New Kit By Roseytoes Designs
It is February already. Outside, the snow is falling. Falling. Falling.
Both my girl's schools sent cancellation notifications yesterday in preparation for the "snowstorm" everyone was anticipating for today. Sitting here at my desk next to the large window facing southwest, it doesn't look so bad. The snow is coming down quickly in tiny flakes, too small to do much harm. It's hard to believe this could cause a snowstorm but in Colorado, one never knows.
A few days ago, I took some photos of my 4-year-old reading. She doesn't know how to read but likes to pretend that she could. Then, when my 9-year-old came home from school later that day, I took some photos of her reading. I thought the photos I took of them would be perfect to use with the Sweet Tweets kit from Roseytoes Designs.
Sweet Tweets is such a cute kit! I simply adore the cutie birds. This kit is available at Ginger Scraps, Funky Playground Designs, and Scrappity-Doo-Dah.
Here are my layouts using this kit:

Journaling reads:
Playing school by herself in the empty living room. She was quietly reading a book she calls, her bible. The book is not a bible, just her imagination. She has been learning about Jesus and God at the Lutheran Pre-school she attends and has grown to enjoy the religious part of it.

Journaling reads:
Kida loves to read. her favorite genre is horror. She can finish a book within a couple of days and will usually tell me all about the story. She loves to read with the TV on playing her Disney shows.
Have a wonderful Friday!
