The inspiration came from my curiosity of what the deep blue ocean would look like far below.
And, below are the photos I used to create the papers. They are not photos of the ocean, unfortunately, but they are of a tropical butterfly pavilion my husband and I took our 5-year-old daughter to on her birthday last year. I turned the photos into oil painting pieces before blending them in. You can see larger views with more details by clicking on the photos.
